DIY 6: Decorate Your Own Laptop

DIY (Do.It.Yourself) projects will be posted regularly in the home page.

* Always ask a grown-up before doing any of the DIY projects.

You need:

- Sticky gems in different shapes and colors.

- Cardstock in unique design/color

- Ruler

- Pen

- Hole puncher

- Double-sided tape

- Whiteboard marker

- Scissors

- Laptop

- Damp cloth &/or Screen Clene (or another screen-wiping product)

Method:

Clean your laptop thoroughly using the Screen Clene and damp cloth. Push the screen down to reveal your 'canvas'. Draw a cute shape on your cardstock with the marker, then cut it out. Wipe off the marker then cut a small piece of the tape. Stick it to the back of the shape, then stick that where you desire. I placed mine in the center. Use the gems to outline the shape, then decorate the corners with them. Do something like add you initials or a <3. Measure your spacebar/enter buttons and cut a piece of cardstock in these sizes. Tape them on. Measure the size of your mouse-pad then cut the cardstock in those dimensions. Poke a hole in the upper-left corner, then tape it in the empty space next to the mouse-pad. Now you have a mini dry-erase board for reminders. Draw on it using the marker. Voila!! You're done.

DIY 5: temporary highlights/dip dye (for girls)

You need:

-hair

-kool-aid

-white conditioner

-water

-cup/container

-time

First, gather your supplies. Then, in the container, empty a small sachet of Kool-Aid in the color you want. Add a small amount of water. You will know when to stop, because all you need to do is add water until it is a paste, not liquid. After that, add the conditioner until required color is obtained. Apply the paste according to the following:

Dip Dye

Collect the section of hair you want to dip dye, then slowly but thoroughly dip your hair into the mixture. Leave on for about an hour. After that, take a thorough shower with shampoo and conditioner as you normally would. Dry and brush your hair as usual. And, voila! Gorgeous colored locks. Enjoy!!!!!!!!

DIY 4: jeans skirt (for girls)

You need:

- Supervision and help from a parent/guardian

- An old pair of jeans

- really strong threads

- hands or a sewing machine

- sewing scissors

- ribbon (optional)

Get your jeans and scissors. Cut the bottom of the skirt to make it the height you want. Then cut the jeans from the middle. Now, sew both sides (of what used to be legs) together. You are done! If you feel inspired, you could sew the ribbon to the bottom of the skirt!

DIY 3: photo scrapbook (album)

DIY (Do.It.Yourself) projects will be posted regularly in the home page.

* Always ask a grown-up before doing any of the DIY projects.

You need:

- colored papers (in the colors you like{could be just white})

- glue stick (or tape, though not preferred)

- photos (the size of pictures printed out of polaroid camera)

- stickers

- paper folder with about 40 pockets for A4 papers

- sticky gems and ribbons the shape of bows for decorations (optional)

- pen, pencil, or golden or silver marker

How to: First get the paper folder, stickers, gems, ribbon bow, and glue. Glue the ribbon bow on the top right corner on the cover of the folder. Now stick the stickers and gems (but not all of them) on the cover of the folder to decorate. Now get the papers and glue or tape 2-3 pictures on every one of them. Then decorate every page with stickers and gems. Use your pen/pencil/marker to write comments under the pictures or on top of the page. And there you have it! Your own photo scrapbook!

DIY 2: glossy lip balm (for girls)

You will need:

- 2 tablespoons petroleum jelly

- 1 teaspoon runny honey

- food flavoring ( cherry, strawberry, peppermint are great!)

- food coloring (optional)

- ultra-fine glitter (optional)

How to:

In a container, put 2 tablespoons of petroleum jelly and 1 teaspoon runny honey. Put 1-3 drops of food flavoring (you may need the help of an adult at this step). Then ask an adult to do this step: put 1-3 drops (depending on how intense you want the color to be) of your preferred food coloring color. Now, you have to put the ultra-fine glitter in any amount you want (within reason).

Do you want to know how to save the pictures in our photo albums and set them as background? Then read this article.

Ok. First you will learn how to save pictures. Open the picture you want. Then right-click on any part of it. A menu will appear, click on 'save picture as' then name it and place it anywhere you want on your computer then click save. And that's how to save pictures in our photo albums.

Now, you will learn how to set our pictures as background. First, open the photo albums from the menu. Open the picture you like. Right-click on it and a menu will appear. Choose the 'set as background' option. And now you changed your background.

DIY 1: personalized pencil

You need:

- A pencil

- sticky notes

- stickers

- sticky gems (optional)

- strong transparent tape

- 1 colored cotton ball (your preferred color)

- Scissors

How to:

Get a new, sharpened pencil. Use the scissors very carefully to cut the sticky parts of the sticky note. Then cover the pencil with the sticky parts of the sticky notes. keep doing it until the entire pencil is covered (but not the wooden tip on the side you write with or the eraser on its end). Take the cotton ball and stick it on the eraser with transparent tape. Decorate your pencil however you like it with stickers and gems. Voila! You are done. Enjoy your personalized pencil.

* Note: You could write or draw and color on the pencil if you wish. It is not recommended but possible.

Loom bands!- WARNING.

Scientists have proven that loom bands cause skin cancer.
 After running a few tests, they found out that it is made 
up of 40% phthalates, a chemical substance used to make
 plastic flexible. Phthalates is illegal if used in amounts more
 than 0.01%, as more than that amount will cause cancer. So,
 if you have any loom bands, get rid of them now!
